Hunter and Ellen at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show..."Dreams do come true"

It was one of those sought-after, perfect days you only dream about. It was a day that was not supposed to happen, but the dream came true for 8-year-old Anne of Harmony Farms and Ellen in late September 2003. Anne had earned her first two legs as a young dog, but became too sick to continue. When littermate Abby passed away earlier in 2003, Ellen knew that Anne had already outlived the lifespan the vet had predicted. Ellen decided to let her very best working dog ever have one more opportunity to finish her Companion Dog title, and entered her one day only at the Kennel Club of Riverside held at Lake Perris. With a group of friends looking on, a tearful Ellen and confident Anne finished first in their class!

Waylon and Sally put the "class" in Classic! CH Nova Scotia Hurricane Waylon took top breed honors at the 4th annual AKC-Eukanuba Classic in December 2003 and then he and Sally became television stars when they showed in Terrier Group competition filmed at the Long Beach Convention Center and televised by Animal Planet!

"Thank you Ellen for helping me train two dogs over the years. You always encouraged your students to try to be the best, which in my opinion worked, since you helped me put a CD title on a Rottweiler; a CD, three Rally titles and a Championship on an American Staffordshire Terrier, as well as many, many Blue ribbons.
You always make the training fun, positive and interesting.  I love the stories you tell during training about the many dogs and people you have trained in the past.  And when I say people you have trained, that is what I mean.  The dogs always “get it” before the people finally get it.
You are always there to give advice on every kind of dog situation or problem that comes up. Over the years I have learned so much more than “come,” “sit” and “stay.”  You definitely know your stuff, there is never any hesitation from you on what the dog and I should be doing at any particular point of the training. Even during the group class you are able to instruct each person at the level of their training.
Besides being a great trainer you are a wonderful, caring person. I will be seeing you soon to start the third dog."

"Ellen Wade has been our dog trainer and friend for over 10 yrs. During that time she has trained 3 of our Boxers (1 male, 2 females ) We prefer her method of training over others here in the desert. The fact that you can return for refreshers when needed for the life of the dog is what drew us to Ellen in the first place. Our dog class led us to others who had also graduated Ellen’s training course. And we now gather and train together on a regular basis. As well as supporting each other when we are at dog shows (which I never thought I’d be doing) We would highly recommend PS Dog Training to anyone seeking to better their pet, from small breeds to large and everything in between Ellen Wade is top notch! "

Thank you,

Bill and Andy (Andy RN, RA, RE, CGC)

"In 2003 my dog Andy, a standard poodle was six months old and with all of that youthful energy he was generally uncontrollable, jumping all over people and other wild actions.  I needed help and luckily saw her ad.  After a discussion I signed Andy up for training that included a two week stay with her and then weekly visits to continue training of both me and Andy.  In a remarkably short time he acquired the rudiments of on leash training. The lessons were pleasurable and rewarding.  She is not a drill sergeant. She then suggested we meet with several other students and their dogs to train for obedience contests at dog shows in the area,  This we did and during the course of his career he won various awards. All of this in a friendly and social atmosphere. Most of all I was pleased with the personal attention she gave to Andy and me and the friendships I made that will last a lifetime."

"Ellen has been my dog trainer since my first dog, and I now have my third dog, one at a time.  I have learned so much from her over the years, and I am still learning more, so I keep going back.  From the very beginning, I liked how she would explain and demonstrate everything in a way I could easily understand.  I am now a retired teacher who was impressed at how Ellen applied learning theory in a practical way.  I thought often that dog training and all I learned from Ellen actually made me a more understanding teacher!  I remember once she told me I had corrected my dog for not performing something she didn't entirely understand yet, and that I needed to be sure what I was asking her to do was clear and had been taught.  Otherwise, it was not fair to my dog.  A lightbulb went on, and I thought how that applies to humans, too.
Ellen is a thoughtful trainer who looks at each dog and owner team as individuals.  She approaches training with a variety of strategies and methods because she is wise, and knows that there is no one method that works for everyone and their dog.

Estelle and her Dog Ruby got their first leg in Advanced Rally. Way to go Ruby and Estelle!!

So she has many techniques to draw from, which adds to her effectiveness and success as a trainer.  I like that!  In addition, Ellen is a true animal lover who loves all God's creatures.  Over the years she has personally helped to rescue many dogs who needed to find good homes.  She walks the talk, indeed!
Thanks to Ellen's guidance, I became interested in AKC performance events, including obedience and rally, which have provided me and my dogs much enjoyment over the years.  But the most important lessons I have learned have to do with making my dog a wonderful pet who can go anywhere dogs are allowed and be a joy to be around whether when eating on a restaurant patio, visiting local parks, going for pleasant walks, participating in community events, or just relaxing at home.  A well trained dog is much more welcome in a wide variety of places.  Ellen can help you and your dog get there!"

Tadesca's Mystic Gypsy Moon, CD, CGC, earned her championship title at the Riverside Kennel Club show held at the beautiful Lake Perris location in September 2000. Gypsy and Tania are now working on the exercises for the Companion Dog Excellent title, and attend the Saturday group obedience classes.

"I have known Ellen Wade for many years and we have trained several dogs for both obedience/rally and conformation showing. I met her through a friend who recommended Ellen's classes for my Miniature Schnauzer.  I liked her immediately and realized that her PS Dog Training is not just a job!  She truly loves and has deep interest in not only dogs but other animals as well.  She is very down to earth and "tells it like it is" when one needs to know what to do to move forward with training. If a dog has a certain "issue" in training, Ellen is able to find various techniques to meet the dog's needs.
The first schnauzer I trained with Ellen was "Gypsy," and she loved Ellen dearly! Gypsy became so very excited every time we got in the car with training equipment in hand to drive to Ellen's classes! Gyspy and I completed her AKC Companion Dog (CD) obedience title and earned one leg in Rally Novice and passed the Canine Good Citizen's test with the instruction we received at PS Dog Training.
I trust Ellen immensely and have left my dogs for Ellen's in-home training with no hesitation whatsoever.  The animals sense her love and caring immediately.  I recommend Ellen to anyone in the Coachella Valley/Yucca Valley/29 Palms area!"

Bresson's Lone Star at Tadesca, aka "Tex", won a major in his very first show out with the handler at Mission Circuit, May 2004.

"Tex" aka Bresson's Lone Star at Tadesca earned his championship title in February by going Best of Winners 4 of 5 days in San Antonio. Tex belongs to Tania Kidd.

Everyone was delighted when Irene and Maisie placed FIRST in their very first dog show ever at the Kennel Club of Palm Springs in January. Maisie and Irene performed extremely well in a very large Pre-Novice class.

Irene and Maisie celebrated a wonderful day at Lake Perris (Kennel Club of Riverside) as Maisie took second place in her class and earned her "First Leg" toward her Companion Dog title in late September. It was an especially gratifying result since none of the dogs in Maisie's class had passed the course the day before due to uncut grass and gophers in the ring!!!

Valentine was Winners' Bitch under Judge Barras.
It was a "major" for Vallie and a great day for mom, too!

Judge Sandra Goose Allen loved Parker at the 2004 Great Western Terrier Association specialty in June. Parker was Best of Winners and won a major.

Parker: Best of Opposite Sex.

Seven-month-old Harmony Farms Secret Valentine took on "the big girls" at the four-day Mission Circuit in Pomona, CA over Memorial Day weekend.
Valentine warmed up with a Reserve Winners Bitch award from Judge Joan Alexander on Friday. Hunter's daughter then brought home the points on Sunday at the San Fernando KC under Judge Charlotte LeVecque.

Harmony Farms When You Wish (Star) and his good buddy Cassandra, made a very big impression on Judge Kenneth Mcdermott at the Rio Hondo Kennel Club Dog Show, where they were Best of Winners for a major. Just look at this photo and it's easy to see why Star and Cassandra make such a good team!!!

Not to be outdone by her littermates (Parker and Pella), Harmony Farms Antique White (Tika) won Best of Winners at Mt. Palomar and received her first points. The following weekend, Tika won a major at South Bay Kennel Club, Friend Tania Kidd enjoyed helping out with Tika while Ellen handled Hunter for the Breed competition.
Tika is now a NEW Champion from the bred by class and she was invited to the Eukanuba Classic.
Ch. Harmony Farms Hunter also was invited to the Classic. We are very proud of them and their father, Ch Snow Winds Full Circle, who is the sire this year of three dogs invited to the Classic.
